III: Worksheet We'll Send You the Tool You Need. If your computer can read Microsoft Excel documents, simply select the version you use: Office '98 for Mac, Excel '95 or Excel '97 so that you can download a very useful Worksheet. Just save it to your hard drive. You can use this custom-made spreadsheet document to determine, with a high degree of reliability, what the Freeaire will save you in terms of energy and money. Pictured below are the two pages of a completed Worksheet, detailing the estimated energy and monetary savings for a fictional convenience store called Mom and Pop's Store. This is what your Worksheet will look like when you receive it. The difference is that the Worksheet you receive will be a fully functional Excel spreadsheet document. The contents, printed in red, of all the fields, or cells, in yellow can be changed to describe your installation. All the other cells are locked or "protected", since you won't need to change anything in them. Many of these protected cells perform calculations based on the information entered in the yellow cells. Mom and Pop's Store is meant to represent a typical installation, so some of the values may stay the same for your job. Try to to use realistic figures that reflect your installation in particular, which may or may not be the same as typical installations in general. Some information, like the number of evaporator fans or their amperage and voltage, will be easy to find. Other things, like your compressor's Coefficient of Performance or the power factor of the existing evaporator fans may not be readily available. Most likely, these values will be close to those for Mom and Pop's, so you should probably use their numbers until you have better information. Once all your information has been substituted for Mom and Pop's, you'll get a very good idea of what you can expect for savings and payback from a Freeaire system in your installation. You might want to send us a copy of your completed Worksheet to see if we agree on the numbers you have used. Once we're all satisfied that the Worksheet gives an accurate picture, you need to decide if you like what it tells you. If you do, give us a call and let's talk about how to turn this estimate into reality.
If you don't have the Excel program, you can print out this page. Then fill in by hand with a pen or pencil the information for your installation right next to the information printed in red in the yellow cells for Mom and Pop's. Return it to us by fax (1-802-496-5205) or mail (R.H.Travers Company, 200 Burnt Mountain Road, Warren, VT 05674, USA). (Having a sheet of paper to write on may be helpful when collecting the information, even if you are entering it into the Worksheet yourself.) Once we receive a completed form from you, we will then enter the information you give us in a copy of our Worksheet, complete the calculations, print it out, and return it to you by fax or mail. Not the most elegant of solutions, a little more work, and much slower, but doable nevertheless.
